Perfect Day is a great example of the most popular 30 foot sailboat every produced. From 1974 to 1997, more than 6,400 were built. The MKII version was introduced in 1986, with the most notable change the modern ?T? Cockpit. The boat features a tall rig, adding two feet to the mast height for additional sail area and a shoal draft winged keel, drawing only 3? 10?. The accommodations for the Catalina 30 were so well conceived, they remain virtually unchanged during the production run. An ample V berth forward, followed by a port side head and shower and starboard side hanging locker. The main salon features a U shaped dinette to port, with a large table that drops down, turning into a bed. Next a large galley to port and Navigation Station to starboard. Aft to starboard is a quarter berth, half under the cockpit for additional storage. On our annual week long cruises, one daughter used the V berth, the second the quarter berth. The boat comfortably sleeps four and can accommodate up to six. Many additions to the standard equipment include a 155 genoa with the standard 110 jib, new life lines, extra battery with solar power, power inverter for phone and device charging, stereo with 4 speakers (2 in the cockpit), 3 self-tailing winches, a complete cockpit canvas for shade along with a Captain?s bimini and stern seats.
